This policy applies to the website summitrecording.com and all services provided through it.

2. What SummitRecording Does — Our Business Model
SummitRecording is operated by Simple Marketing Agency Limited (SIC 73110 — Advertising agencies). Our service works as follows:
- We publish editorial content about road accident compensation claims in the United Kingdom.
- Visitors who wish to pursue a claim may submit their details via our free assessment form.
- We review submissions and pass qualifying enquiries to FCA-authorised claims management companies (CMCs) and/or regulated solicitors who are equipped to handle the claim on your behalf.
- We may receive a referral fee (cost-per-lead) from the CMC or solicitor when your details are passed to them.
- The CMC or solicitor then contacts you directly to discuss your case and, if appropriate, to represent you.
By submitting the assessment form, you are not entering into a solicitor-client relationship with SummitRecording. Any such relationship is formed solely with the FCA-authorised firm that contacts you.
3. What Personal Data We Collect
When you submit the free assessment form, we collect:
- Identity data: first name, last name
- Contact data: telephone number, email address
- Claim data: type of accident, approximate date of accident, brief description of circumstances (if provided)
- Consent data: the exact consent text you agreed to, the date and time of consent (timestamp), and the URL of the page where consent was given
- Technical data: IP address (anonymised for analytics), browser type, pages visited, referral source — collected via cookies (see Section 9)
We do not collect sensitive personal data (special category data under UK GDPR Art. 9) such as medical records. If you describe your injury in the optional description field, this remains within your submitted form text only and is shared with the receiving CMC/solicitor in the same form in which you provided it.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Legal basis: Consent — UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a). You provide explicit, freely given consent by ticking the consent checkbox before submitting the form. Consent is granular: it covers contact by SummitRecording and its FCA-authorised partners by phone, email, and SMS. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 8).
Legal basis: Consent — UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) + PECR Regulation 6 (electronic communications) and Regulation 21/22 (live/automated calls). Your consent to be contacted by our FCA-authorised partners is captured at the point of form submission. Partner firms rely on this consent when contacting you.
Legal basis: Consent — UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) + PECR Reg. 6. Analytics cookies are only loaded after you accept via the cookie banner. IP addresses are anonymised.
Legal basis: Consent — UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) + PECR Reg. 6. Loaded only after explicit cookie acceptance.
Legal basis: Legitimate interests — UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f). We retain server logs for 30 days to detect fraudulent submissions and protect both users and partner firms.
5. How We Use Your Data
- To assess whether your enquiry meets the basic eligibility criteria (accident within 3 years, not entirely your fault)
- To pass your enquiry to one or more FCA-authorised CMCs or regulated solicitors who may be able to assist with your claim
- To send you an acknowledgement email (if applicable)
- To record and evidence the consent you provided, for legal and compliance purposes
- To analyse website usage and improve our content (analytics only, with consent)
- To measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns (conversion pixel, with consent)
We do not use your data for any purpose unrelated to road accident claims services.

- Partners are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than assessing and pursuing your claim.
- Partners have their own privacy policies which will be provided to you when they first contact you.
- To request a list of current partner firms, email info@summitrecording.com.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party for purposes unrelated to your claim enquiry.
7. Data Retention

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see Section 8). Note that we are required to retain consent records even after a deletion request, for legal compliance purposes, but will delete all other data.
8. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Right of access (Art. 15): to request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16): to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17): to request deletion of your data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Right to restrict processing (Art. 18): to limit how we use your data while a dispute is resolved.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20): to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21): to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3)): you may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. To withdraw consent and opt out of further contact by our partner firms, email us at info@summitrecording.com with the subject "Withdraw Consent" and include the phone number or email address you submitted. We will process your request within 72 hours and forward your opt-out request to all partner firms who received your data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@summitrecording.com with the subject "Data Rights Request". We will respond within 30 days (as required by UK GDPR Art. 12).
If you are dissatisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
- Website: ico.org.uk

- Address: Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and (with your consent) to analyse traffic and measure advertising performance. No tracking cookies are loaded until you have accepted via the cookie consent banner.
For a full breakdown of the cookies we use, their purpose, and how to manage them, see our Cookie Policy.
10. Automated Decision-Making
The eligibility checker on our homepage uses your answers to present one of three outcomes: "eligible", "may be eligible", or "time-barred". This is for indicative information purposes only and does not constitute an automated decision with legal or similarly significant effect within the meaning of UK GDPR Art. 22. No decision to accept or reject a claim is made by our systems — that assessment is carried out by the qualified legal professionals at the partner firm who contact you.
11. PECR — Electronic Marketing Compliance
The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) govern how we and our partners may contact you by electronic means (phone, email, SMS).
- We will only pass your details to partner firms after you have provided explicit consent by ticking the consent checkbox on the assessment form.
- The consent wording displayed to you at the time of submission is stored alongside your data as evidence of compliance.
- Partner firms are required to honour opt-out requests immediately. If a partner firm contacts you after you have withdrawn consent, please notify us so we can investigate.
- We do not use automated calling systems (robocalls) to contact enquirers ourselves.
- If you are registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), please note that your consent given via our form overrides TPS registration for the purposes of the specific claim enquiry, in accordance with ICO guidance.
12. International Data Transfers
Some of our technology partners (Google, Taboola) process data outside the UK. Transfers to the United States are made under the UK-US Data Bridge (in force 17 October 2023), which provides an adequate level of protection recognised by the UK Government. Transfers within the EEA are made under adequacy decisions. We do not transfer your form submission data (name, phone, email, claim details) outside the UK.
13. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure, including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Access controls restricting who within our organisation can view submission data
- Contractual data processing agreements with all partner firms and technology providers
- Regular review of data handling procedures
In the event of a personal data breach likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and, where required, notify you directly.
14. Children's Data
Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately at info@summitrecording.com and we will delete it promptly.
15. FCA Regulatory Disclaimer
Simple Marketing Agency Limited is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). We do not provide regulated claims management services and do not act as a claims management company. Our role is limited to information provision and marketing — connecting individuals with FCA-authorised firms.
All claims management activities carried out on your behalf will be conducted by FCA-authorised firms. You should receive a copy of their Terms of Business and Privacy Policy before they commence work. You are under no obligation to use any firm we introduce you to.
16. Changes to This Policy

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
